How good are you at baseball? You could be at a professional skill level or maybe you’ve never even touched a baseball before. No matter how good you are, it’s because of your dedication to practicing or... lack thereof. One fact about practice and improvement is that no one else can do it FOR you. It’s something you can only do for yourself. However, it’s common to want to fix or change others, in particular, your spouse.

If you want to change
your marriage or spouse the first thing you should do is look in the mirror.
As you focus on what YOU can do to improve, it is almost natural for a spouse
to notice and want to be better as well. If you want your spouse to eat
healthier, take the initiative first and be a healthier person. Take
responsibility for changing your own behavior and not your spouse’s behavior. Lead
by example.

Practice this skill as you hit baseballs in the batting cage
at Extra Innings. Their pitching machine sends baseballs flying
between 40 and 80 mph! While you practice, only comment on what your spouse
does well (correct stance, good swing, consistent hits, etc.). Don’t try to fix
your spouse. Remember, the only person you should critique is yourself. You can
give helpful feedback for your spouse only when he or she asks for it. Check
out Extra Innings website for prices and other details. And make sure to call
and set reservations ahead of time.
