Any outdoorsman will tell you that each climbing
experience in unique in scenery and difficulty. One part of the trail could
give one person blisters and throbbing calves for days, while other parts are
full of breathtaking waterfalls and wildlife.
Each marriage has their own personal mountain to
climb. Some may ask, what’s the point? Why even bother with working on a
marriage? What makes hikers and climbers keep going back?
Because the process of overcoming sorrows, pain
and frustration makes the view from the top even more breathtakingly beautiful
and sweet.
A friend shared an experience recently about his son at the dental office. He absolutely hated the dentist. He did not want his cavity filled, and was experiencing quite a bit of anxiety. Then, when this young boy's name was called, he jumped out of his seat, and proclaimed, "BRING ON THE PAIN!"
He understood that the pain is only temporary, and the outcome would be worth it in the end.
Marriage is absolutely worth it in the end.
